Description
This second wine of the 5th Growth Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste has a great reputation. And rightly so as the Borie family take great care in the production of this wine. This vintage was composed of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc that were given some 3 weeks of maceration before ageing in French barriques, 45% of which were new for around 15 months before bottling. It is quite an earthy wine with plenty of red and black fruits, decent tannins and an elegant finish. Ideal for young drinking.
