Description
A great wine from the AXA stable and a close relative of Chateau Pichon Baron. It has decent colour, moderate to rich garnet with some purple notes still (2021) with sweet aromas of currants, stewed plums and Ribena. Moderate on the palate also, it has a good fresh acidity, plenty of dark fruit flavours yet a soft to moderate mouth-feel. The fruit stays well in the finish and the tannins although very evident are not overpowering. A wine built to last a couple of decades but very pleasant to drink now with some venison or other such hearty meat.
